Preparing for Holiday sales

Are you wondering what will bring the Art buying public into your online store? (Me too!)…

I had a banner day on Halloween where an Art Buyer from Royersford PA. visited my www.Vistaphotograph.com online store and purchased 5 prints and 1 framed print.

What we all want to know is… what does it take to get them to visit more often or spend like crazy during the next month and a half.

Personally I would rather they didn’t spend like crazy but just purchased regularly during the year.

To have a sale or not?

None of these were brought in by a sale by me or by any incentive by FAA that I’m aware of. They didn’t spend a lot of money purchasing 8×10 prints and one framed print but it does add up. I’m trying not to slash prices just to get a sale but I may post a discount code nearer to Black Friday. Want a code? Sign up for my Fine Art Newsletter by clicking.

To be honest I would have to sell this many 5 days a week to be able to stop working… Lets just say I’m not there yet… 🙂

Suggested Marketing practices

Order your own products before of the holidays for photos.

Seeing your products paired with other items or practically used in a space will do wonders for a customer on the fence. Bright, natural light is typically the most pleasing on the eye. Holiday the shots up a bit if you want. ohmyprints-02112016-005624.jpgShowing your work as a lifestyle shots, you can help clients visualize a shot of a of your products. They’re incredible popular and super easy on the eyes. I made this with wallapp.

Take advantage of holiday sales put on by your online seller.

Last year FAA/Pixels.com launched a free shipping deal during the holidays. They don’t give a lot of heads up so visit they seller’s website, so you can prep your marketing material and send it out fast.

Add links to your shop on your social media channels.

On your website, add a “shop” link in the Nav. In Instagram, add your shop link to the bio. On Facebook, add a CTA (Call To Action) to your fan page or a link on your personal page. The same goes for any other social platform you want to send traffic to your shop from.

Promote your top sellers across social media.

Here is a more interesting one. This is Marketing 101. Put stock in your most popular work while testing newer work. Even if someone doesn’t buy your top seller, the next best thing is you’ve grabbed their attention and they’re deep into your shop looking for something like it.
