Winning Fall colors over Saugus Iron works

For me the fall foliage colors in New England are a winning combination at any time of the year. In the dead of winter I’m just as happy to contemplate the fall colors as I am the warm summer days at the beach.

I worked as a National Park Ranger in 2014 and I was thusly able to enter a Park employee contest. I was honored to be one of eleven winners from among 700 hundred entries.

I choose to enter this image of the Saugus Iron Works and apparently the judges thought it was pretty nice also.

If you are wondering what I won, I received a new pair of binoculars (Celestron 9×25) and a National Parks pass good for 2015 and an $80 value. You can see what other contests the National Park Service has for 2015 by visiting the Share the Experience website.

If you think my prizes were good in the contest open to the public, the Grand prize is   Ten Thousand Dollars ($10,000.00) and stuff and even the honorable mentions get $1,000…

The contest will be open in May (I think) for submissions and make sure you read the rules.

If nothing else it will get you out into our National parks and there is no downside there!
