From planning to executing your New England travels!

Riddle me this: Why Come Here?

Start with a blank sheet of paper and mark down each of these…

First! Why come here? You can head to the beaches, go whale watching, climb a 4,000-foot mountain, bike on dirt roads, or, for the more adventurous, go mountain biking, or, of course, leaf-peeping. Whatever your reason, the purpose will determine when and where you go.

Second. Where can you do these items? If you are biking, you literally can do that almost anywhere and almost year-round. But if you are biking AND whale-watching, now you are more limited to along the shoreline, or at least “near” the coastal areas.

Do you need help with this research? I have an Amazon store with books on hiking, biking, and info on towns in New England. So you can pay and buy some books on the subjects you are interested in.

Research

So books are a good way to do things. But for people on the “net,” you can visit any of the state VT, NH, ME, MA, CT, RI, tourism sites.

Third item: You can check social media. I have my New England Fall Foliage page on Facebook. I also have a Facebook group strictly for leafpeepers, where you can check when and where the fall colors have shown up in any year. (Read the rules before posting.)

Fourth: These are my general guidelines on planning your trip. I would write down each website that gives you specific recommendations. (If doing this, you might just list all of these links in Google Docs or Word or whatever program you use for word processing. That way, you can access the doc on your phone and click the links!

Those are some basic suggestions for planning and executing your scenic trip to New England. If I missed a few, leave your suggestions in the comments.
