Pumpkin Thieves in the Eerie Hollow Cemetery
One of the things I love about the autumn is Halloween. Lisa and I took a drive up to Hookset, New Hampshire, to visit the Eerie Hollow Cemetery. Our Friend Denny Stanley had created his signature pumpkin creatures, and Lisa and I wanted to go see and photograph his home haunt.
We showed up on a foreboding afternoon with drizzle, making electrical connections dicey. My equipment would be a Canon 50D and a Sony Video Camera. This was in the days before cell phones had made the leap to the photographic tool that they are today. The Sony was one of the last infrared models. (It could shoot in the dark)
To me, this made for a perfect tool for recording the haunted events that occurred this afternoon and evening. Even under the cloudy sky, I was able to use the Sony in night mode to create a creepy effect.
Each year, Denny Stanley designs the haunt concept and then builds the Cemetery from the ground up. His Pumpkin Thieves are his newest creations, and they will be found throughout the grounds.
The Pumpkin Thieves are not the only creatures stirring in this cemetery
The Pumpkin Thieves are also available for sale. Nothing is mass produced and if you want to buy American and I know you all do! Then contact Denny to see what he can do for you. There will be a full website soon that will enable all of this much easier. but for now watch the video and write down his email address at the end credits.
If you enjoyed the video I’d love to hear from you or if there is something you didn’t like then I’d like to hear that also (Yes, it does happen… ) 🙂
